3D Printing Guidelines & Procedures

Glencoe Public Library's 3D printer #1, located in the YA room             Glencoe Public Library's 3D printer #2, located next to the Children's desk on the second floor

The library has 2 Bambu P1S 3D printers that turn digital files into solid objects. If you would like to print something using our 3D printers, simply submit the STL file using our 3D Printing Request Form.

Printing Procedures

  • Any Glencoe cardholder in good standing may submit one print request per week.
  • Print requests are available at no cost.
  • Submissions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, but we try to have your print job completed within a week of receipt. If it has been more than a week, please contact us at 3dprinting@glencoelibrary.org
  • Files should be in STL format (.stl).
  • A maximum of seven hours is allowed per print job. We will contact you if your item needs to be scaled down to fit the time limit.
  • We can often accommodate specific color requests but may ask you to reconsider if we do not have filament in the requested color. We do not print objects that require multiple filament colors.
  • We will call or email you when your print is complete. You may then pick up your item from the Circulation Desk. Items will be held for two weeks before being discarded.
